Politics of betrayal in Kenya seems not to end soon.  Now that elections are based on tribal alliances, once a certain community supports another especially for presidency they expect payback.

The famous MOU was by NARC in 2002 where Kibaki was expected to support LDP candidate in 2007. But unfortunately that didn’t happen which led to animosity in the country. Majority of Kenyans currently seem to get used to it, thus understands coalitions dies immediately after the elections. The coalitions like CORD collapse immediately after 2013 elections, then changed to NASA which is now on its death bed.

The new scenario is worrying in the North Rift as the leaders like Oscar Sudi and Samson Cherargei have publicly send a gun blazing signal in Jubilee under the leadership  of president Uhuru Kenyatta won’t support the candidature of his Deputy William Ruto during 2022 elections. Surprisingly the Uasin Gishu Women rep Ms. Gladys Boss Shollei has joined the bandwagon expressing her dissatisfaction from the jubilee leadership not honoring the MOU.

During an interview on K24 on Punchline, the MP said that his community feels betrayed as their kingpin is being sidelined. “When people of Rift valley woke up in 2017 to vote, were voting for Ruto not Uhuru”, she said. “President Uhuru should publicly declare the jubilee presidential candidature for 2022 polls”, she alluded.

It’s now three years to 2022 general election, let’s keenly follow the proceedings to see what will come out.
