The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Services (KUCCPS), which admits students to universities, colleges and technical institutions, is expected to make the highly has made announcement today on the placement of the 2019 KCSE candidates.
Over 500,000 last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations (KCSE) candidates who qualified for placement in universities and colleges are directed to check the KUCPPS website to see the institution placed. Colleges and universities were all closed in March 2020 due COVID-19 pandemic.
Basing on the current statistics about institutions of higher learning, a total 563,479 scored between grade C and E. Tvet institutions, however, can only absorb about 350,000 students which is about 62 per cent. The rest, 38 per cent, will be enrolled in vocational institutions across the country.

On the other hand about of 125,449 students scored a C+ and above and will be distributed across the country’s 74 public and private universities. The Commission for University Education has allowed 138, 000 to join universities against the declared capacity of 193,000. Those students who applied should check their status of application.
