Yet again, most students in Vihiga constituency have been sent home for school fees creating havoc among the residents.
It is even saddening that the said 3 classes that are supposed to be fully sponsored by the area MP have also been sent home.
Some parents that did not want to be mentioned revealed that they have transferred their children to day schools as the CDF office had failed to settle the students’ fees as had been promised.
“I cannot continue having my student in the boarding school while the debt continues to grow na sijui kama huyu Kagesi atalipa vile ali promise.”
Speaking to our news editor, parents said that they had applied for bursaries for their children but were yet to be awarded. It is even sad to note that the MP is said to be using bursary funds for campaign activities while students remain home.
“Tujiulize, pesa zenye zilifaa kua za bursary wakati wa Corona shule zikiwa zimefungwa zilienda wapi;” said one parent from Mungoma Ward.
“We cannot continue pretending that all is well when it is not, the MP is using public funds for campaign.” a parent from Mbale could not hide his disapointment.
“Ata van yenye ilifaa iwe ya Chambiti secondary, ndio hii ilikatakatwa anafanyia campaign.” Said another.
Residents are now calling upon the MP to stop using public funds for his own selfish interests and act on the important issue at hand, which is, ensuring that all students are back in school.
