Is it premature hope for graduate P1 teachers?
Sources close the TSC national secretariat indicates that most of the P1 graduates with a minimum of C+ in K.C.S.E will be absorbed in High schools starting January 2019. This is based on inadequate teachers at secondary level and pressure from Kenya National Union of Teachers KNUT.
Most primary teachers have been yearning to be promoted to secondary schools after graduating but it fell on a deaf eye at the TSC headquarters. On administration perspective the Ministry of education insists that only graduate teachers will be allowed to head primary schools or even be deputies.
As January 2019 approaches first, all eyes will be at Kilimanjaro road to see how the issues will be unveiled.
