As the nation is trying to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, politics still has not been set aside in the ruling party. The two Jubilee factions’ kieleweke and tangatanga continue to smear mud to one another day in day out. Now that the government has banned public gatherings, the proponents of the sides have opted to use social media to air out their grievances.
The challenges facing the Dp escalated when the war between him and the party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta continued in the party organ leadership row. They both are seeking to control the Jubilee Party Organs. This was reignited following the proposed changes to one of the top decision making organs-National Management Committee.
In rejoinder the Deputy President said that on behalf of 146 Jubilee elected Mps and senators had rejected the fraudulent and illegal attempted changes by heartless gangsters taking advantage of covid-19. “To reduce our administration to chemistry, position & power is an insult to Uhuru & i and betrayal of the 8m plus Kenyans who voted for us. Jubilee is about the hustle of every ordinary citizen not leaders; unity not isolation; transformation not big office; empowerment not power”, the angry Dp twitted.
The Deputy President further advised followers on the way forward after the expose on K24’s programme “punchline” with Anne Kiguta as the host. The Sunday article led to gun blazing from the Jubilee proponents questioning the reasoning behind. The news anchor had authoritatively remarked that the Dp will not inherit President Uhuru Kenyatta because he’s currently acting like a Co-President.
On replying Dr. William Ruto said, “Jubilee fraternity should ignore propaganda peddled by desperados seeking ragtag ethnic coalitions. Our progressive constitution vest power in party organs not personalities. Jubilee the governing party has no room for selfish evil experiments meant to benefit brokers & their ilk”. He then quoted the bible verse: 1 Peter 5:10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
