The agitated Kimilili constituency lawmaker, Mr. Didmas Barasa is adamant that the Bungoma governor should go home before 2022 general elections. The Mp said that he will rally all Mps within the county 039 to fast track the process of impeaching the governor. The sentiments he alluded could not appease Mr. wangamati’s proponents. They were wondering how the legislator will mobilize the other members to impeach the governor something that is not within their mandate.
The Mp said that he was doing all that with the blessings of the area senator Mr. Moses Wetangula. They both plan to have meetings across the county but have not specified how they will convince the MCAs to prosecute the impeachment process.

Allegations raised by the legislator against the governor might not be watertight at the moment. He said that the county CEO is like Covid-19 and must leave office early as yesterday. He claimed that the governor is focused on his personal interests instead of building the welfare of the residents. “Small scale traders are struggling to pay heavy taxes imposed by the county government”, Mr. Barasa said. He questioned the genueniness of companies doing several projects claiming that they do on behalf of the county CEO especially the roads ministry. He urged the anti-graft agencies to carry out thorough investigations that will show how the administration only favors a few individuals.
On the other hand the county chief dismissed the Lawmaker that he doesn’t have any agenda and he couldn’t waste time to comment on the same. Several Mps so far has dismissed the Kimilili lawmaker terming his move as personal. Also the senate speaker termed the move by Mr. Didmas Barasa as untimely now that the country is focusing on coronavirus pandemic.
Earlier this year the Bungoma senator raised the same sentiments about the governor and we are yet to see any fruitful legal process.
