Description
It is most important to test the pH of your kombucha both at the start and end of the 1st ferment.Testing before:
So as to make sure you have a safe brew with no mold or any unwanted bacteria.
Aim to start at 4.5 or below at the start of the brew.
If your pH is high, you can mix in small amounts of plain white vinegar. Then retest until you reach a pH of 4.5 or below.
Testing After:
Your kombucha is ready to drink or bottle at a pH 2.5 to 3.5. Our kombucha test strips are marked in .5 increments, this is so you get a more precise reading against universal test strips or rolls. With a clear, easy to read color chart to match your results at .5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5, 5.5 and 6.0 you can ensure the pH of your solution.
