Photo was used by Mr Nelson in his book about his golf and life. Was on display for many years at Los Colinas CC site of Byron Nelson tour event for decades.
Taken in 1930s in front of Brackenridge Park GC in San Antonio during the Texas Open.

Mr Nelson may have been the nicest person who also became a legendary golfer. Was raised by a God fearing family and that believe stayed with him throughout his entire life. Later is life would say he was not special just because he could hit a golf ball.
Always worked with his hands and was a great feel player, one of the best long iron players in history of game. Later used those same hands to become a country rancher and into his 80s like to build Wood working gifts in his shop for his friends.
Mentoring many players including most famously Ken Venturi and Tom Watson.
