Political leaders are currently using the Coronavirus Pandemic period to play PR and gain mileage politically. In the name of helping the vulnerable in the society many have opted not to give their contributions to the National Covid-19 emergency team formed by the President instead they solely do it themselves.
Yesterday at the President’s home county his deputy distributed for 600 families in Nachu Ward as part of the wider 3,600 households that benefitted; to shield Kenyans from adverse effects of the outbreak. “We are committed to ensuring that vulnerable Kenyans are supported during this tough period of the COVID-19 crisis besides coming up with broad plans that will facilitate the country’s rapid recovery from the disease”, the Dp said.

Is he daring the President?
Kenyans were left asking why the Dp chose Kiambu where statistics show that is the richest county in the country. Now that most Kenyans are suffering in slums like Kibra, Mukuru, Ruai, kawangware and other regions especially hit by floods, Dr. William Ruto decided to help the majority landlords in Kiambu.
The Dp was accompanied by the kikuyu Mp Kimani Ichungwah on his mission.

“We are also investing in various infrastructural projects such as the construction of the Marengeta Dam, which is part of dams that will benefit more than 120,000 households countrywide,” the Dp alluded without mentioning his boss. The 2010 constitution didn’t make the Dp office outomous instead was made the President’s Principal Assistant. That means his duties are only delegated by his boss. A tour to Kiambu yesterday by the Dp was on his on motion and moreso inspecting Government projects without the blessings of the President. The differences in the ruling party seem has reached a point of no return.
