It’s now three weeks since Covid-19 case was first announced in Kenya. The national government is trying to put up some measures to prohibit its spread but still the numbers are going up. But the good news is that we have some recoveries so far. Today President Kenyatta had a candid conversation with the survivors who have been in quarantine for 23 days at Mbagathi hospital.

The London based Brenda Cherotich and Brian who jetted in the country early last month said that after realizing the consistency in coughing they decided to take themselves to Mbagathi Hospital for checkup. “I took the initiative to visit the hospital after I started coughing”, said Brenda. She stated that after examinations were done, she was told she was positive with Corona virus. On the other hand Brian just did the same because he was close to Brenda at the point. He too told he was positive and meant the journey for treatment had to begin.
The two thanked the medical staff from Kenyatta Hospital, well-wishers and the government at large for given them the needful support they required. Through the video link conversation with President, they thanked him for standing with them during the difficult moments.
The president urged them sensitize other people especially from the rural setting to adhere to government directives. He urged them to continue staying safe and come up for support from the government if need be.
