The COTU secretary General Mr. Francis Atwoli has in the past tried to unite luhyas to have a formidable team that will challenge other bigwigs in other regions but all this has not worked. Prior to the last general elections, the outspoken COTU secretary General organized for a luhya come together where he installed Musalia Mudavadi as the Luhya spokesperson.
Atwoli publicly questioned Mudavadi why he failed to attend the mock swearing in of Mr. Odinga, ODM party leader as the people’s president. He termed former VP as a coward who cannot even marry two wives. Mudavadi didn’t hesitate; he quickly paid Atwoli a visit at his rural home in Khwisero to reconcile.
Speaking in Lamu last week during the fundraising ceremony for lamu womens sacco, Mr. Atwoli hinted at vying for the top seat. He said that he was above being a mere deputy president and went on to outline the lineup that will form the government. “serikali ya 2022 tutatengeneza na Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula, Hassan Joho, Uhuru Kenyatta na Gideon Moi.” He said.
He took time to throw tantrums at Bonny Khalwale whom he termed as a beggar and cursed him to beg forever. He claimed that the parents of Dr. khalwale prepared chang’aa to educate him little did they know that their son will become a beggar who wakes up every day at sugoi to wash sufurias.
