The divisions in the ruling party seemingly are heading to rapture. The signs on the wall show it all. There’s no turning back from the party leader. Starting with ousting of the senate Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Chief Whip Senator Susan Kihika, the Head of state is heading to the National Assembly for clean-up. The nominated senators who boycotted the statehouse meeting have not been spared either. They have been summoned to show cause why they didn’t attend the meeting.
North and south rift regions are ‘bedroom” for Deputy President William Ruto. To reduce his influence, it’s alleged the statehouse has identified individuals all former politicians to spearhead the President’s agenda in the region. Sources indicate that some of the leaders leaning on the Deputy President side will face the sack to give way for loyalists. The rising rebellion has been a giving the President a headache both in the house and in the streets but he’s now determined to crack the whip. Baringo Senator who’s also KANU chairman is believed will lead the onslaught on dehorning the Dr. William Ruto.
The KANU senator will work closely with his close allies like Musa Sirma who’s a former minister for East African and Regional Cooperation in Kenya and a former member of parliament for the Eldama Ravine Constituency. Another notable character is Zakayo Cheruiyot who served for two terms announced his retirement from politics after losing the seat in 2017 is poised to come back to lead the agenda in Kuresoi constituency and its environs.
Key figures are the young legislators like Nandi Hills Mp Alfred Keter, Cherangany Mp Joshua Kutuny, Moiben Mp Silas Tiren and Governor Alex Tolgos of Elgeyo Marakwet.Former Agriculture Minister Kipruto arap Kirwa will be a key factor in Tranzoia politics, that’s why he has been identified to take care of Cosmopolitan region. Closely the Tranzoia team will work with West Pokot leaders notably Prof.John Krop Lonyang’apuo and Senator Poghisio. Former Bomet Governor Isaac Ruto is will be a key figure in South Rift politics. He’s rumored to be warming up for cabinet position in the near future. His party Chama cha Mashinani will be strengthened to reduce the jubilees’ tangatanga dominance in the region. KANU secretary General Nick Salat has been also identified and his stamina will be vital in the coming months. North Rift will see the comeback of Dr. Sally Kosgei. She’s a former minister for higher education in the coalition government which came about in 2008 after the post-election violence. She was also an Mp for Aldai constituency and powerful civil servant during Moi’s error. It is now clear the red line has been drawn and casualties are slowly drowning in Atlantic Ocean. Will they be swallowed by sharks or a miracle might happen? Time will tell.
